AegisAC (Aegis Anti-Cheat)

https://github.com/ressiws/AegisAC

AegisAC is an open-source, server-sided anti-cheat for Counter-Strike 2, built with C# and the SwiftlyS2 framework.

Its goal is to provide server owners with advanced cheat detection without requiring players to install any client-side software.

The plugin uses server-side game data, usercmd analysis, sub-tick information, trajectory analysis and network monitoring to identify suspicious behaviour while accounting for legitimate player behaviour and potential false positives.

Detection modules include:

  • Aimbot: Detects suspicious aim snaps, unnatural aim smoothing, robotic accuracy and recoil control patterns.
  • Silent Aim: Analyses sub-tick angle discrepancies and suspicious post-shot angle behaviour.
  • Triggerbot: Evaluates reaction times, target acquisition and synthetic input patterns.
  • Aimlock: Detects suspicious crosshair tracking, including tracking through walls.
  • Anti-WallHack: Server-side entity occlusion to prevent clients from receiving information about enemies hidden behind world geometry.
  • Anti-Aim: Detects spinbots, invalid angles and suspicious yaw manipulation.
  • Movement: Detects automated bunnyhopping, Snap-Tap / Nulls and AutoStrafe.
  • Exploits: Identifies sub-tick manipulation, invalid input and other command-related exploits.
  • DLL Injection: Scans for suspicious client-side game event subscriptions.
  • CVar Scanner: Checks critical client console variables for suspicious modifications.
Additional features:

  • Modular configuration with independent detection and punishment settings.
  • Configurable kick and ban integration.
  • Discord webhook notifications.
  • Real-time diagnostic commands for individual detection modules.
  • Hot configuration reloading without restarting the server.
  • Optional incident telemetry.
  • Companion telemetry project for community-driven detection calibration.
AegisAC is designed to be configurable and evidence-driven, with multiple detection signals and network safety checks to help reduce false positives.

The project is actively developed, and contributions, testing and feedback are welcome!

⚙️ Installation

Requirements:

  • Counter-Strike 2 Dedicated Server.
  • SwiftlyS2 v1.1.6 or newer.
  • .NET 10.0 Runtime.
Steps:

  1. Download the latest release from:
    https://github.com/ressiws/AegisAC/releases
  2. Extract the archive into:
    game/csgo/addons/swiftlys2/plugins/AegisAC/
  3. Start or restart your server.
  4. AegisAC will automatically generate its default configuration at:
    game/csgo/addons/swiftlys2/configs/plugins/AegisAC/config.jsonc
  5. Configure the detection modules and punishment settings according to your server's needs.
Note: Punishments can be individually disabled by setting "Punishment": "None" in the configuration, allowing server owners to test detections before enabling automatic sanctions.

The “CVarScanner” section claims that it checks the client’s values for the sv_cheats and host_timescale variables, but these are actually server variables. The client only receives the value that the server sends it, so a reverse query will yield nothing. This is a security measure from 2010.

Some of the other listed cvars (r_drawothermodels, mat_wireframe, fog_enable, and the old “prediction” cvars) look like remnants from Source 1. Cheats don’t depend on any of them, since they read data directly from memory.

The AI wrote this without even understanding how it works or that it’s completely unnecessary.
